Sudsy Soap!

Shark Tank for the win! Shark Tank is one of my favorite shows to watch because you can really spot some neat products on Shark Tank that you might not have otherwise heard of.  Besides, who can deny watching some investors start bickering with each other on who should spend their giant wad of cash? 

Blueland was a company that went on Shark Tank and if I'm recalling correctly their center product was around cleaners (which if you read my last post, I really don't purchase many of anymore). However, they also had hand soap! Which I definitely do still use! ;) And their goal was to reduce waste!  Since the majority of the cleaners and soaps that we purchase are water, they send you the parts of the cleaners and soaps that isn't water.  It comes in these little tablets and all you have to do is add water! It's really handy actually. I have used their hand soaps since August 2020 and I really must say that I  love the quality of the product.  It foams really well.  They have glass containers they sell to you one time upfront and then you just purchase the tablets to continually refill the soap containers.  Personally, I wasn't a fan of the look of the Blueland glass container they sold. I purchased 3 glass foaming hand pumps on Amazon, measured the water, added the tablet and boom!  The cost is $3 a refill and every time you make a purchase, the tablets are shipped in a paper package.  It's handy to store too, you don't have to keep a giant refill under the sink, and you save yourself on the mess each time you refill it.  One of my happiest moments is when I can find something that is truly less wasteful and I like the alternative better than the wasteful original.  A true win win!

Starting Off...

As 2020 took hold of our lives and made most of us slow down and spend way more time at home than we were used to, I noticed a little something. The incredible amount of sheer waste my little family of 3 creates. Frankly, it's appalling. While I'm not even close to fixing that problem in our home in it's entirety, I have found some satisfaction and happiness from the solutions I have found. The Product that opened my eyes

 Now............I hesitate to bring this company up because they are an MLM. And because I love their products so much, I became a consultant. I wanted as much of what I could get for a reasonable price.  Selling that product has never been a real "job" for me, as I have only thrown one party and that host asked me to without me going to her.  It really was a way for me to get as much of it for as cheap as I could.  Frankly, I wish they weren't an MLM because  A) finding someone to sell you a product when you know you want the product but don't know anyone that sells it makes it harder to get ahold of  B) there is a ton of skepticism around MLM products, based solely on the fact they are an MLM  (and I will say rightfully so in some cases) C) I never wanted to be associated as the person who just peddled things  (which is why I never pursued selling it, even though I love the products). Baggies!

 Let's talk kitchen stuff!  Zip lock baggies are plastic on plastic, and they are often only used once before we decide to throw them in the trash! I will admit that I still buy baggies, but I just buy less and less. I have found an all silicone replacement with the brand Stasher, and I do absolutely love them. They have varying sizes to meet the needs that typical baggies would. Their price point is a bit high to just jump in head first in my opinion, but well worth it to slowly build a collection.  I have purchased an off-brand version previously about a year ago and was not so thrilled with them. To be honest with you, I don't even remember the brand they were, but they did not stay closed at all which completely defeated the purpose.   The really cool thing about Stashers is the ability to freeze them and on the packaging it says you can cook with them.  I have never tried cooking with them.
